Good influence 004
Excellent purchases
It’s been awhile, but I am back to tell you about more internet things that I am happy I fell for. While I applaud my friends who muscled through No-Buy January, I just simply was not on that path this year. Instead, I found myself trying new things and caving on multiple viral pieces that I’ve resisted for, in some cases, years. Here’s a rundown of what I have found to be worth it.
The Crown Affair hair towel: I am literally wearing mine while I type this. I had a hard time understanding how a small microfiber towel with an elastic strap was worth $60, but boy do I get it now. Transitioning away from my regular bath towel to this has been a game changer: it’s light weight, absorbent and stays in place. No longer do I suffer from neck pain on hair wash day.
Those Prada sunglasses— yes, you know which ones: Designer sunglass haters are not going to like to hear this, but the Prada aviators with the colored lenses are fantastic. My husband got me the pink, polarized pair for my birthday, and I loved them so much that I found the brown and yellow ones 50% off around New Years. These are my most worn glasses right now, and I alternate between the two every single day. They make my generally simple outfits feel a little more fun and less serious.
Salomon sneakers: I never doubted these, but they were impossible to get my hands on for months. When I did finally track them down in my size, I accidentally walked 30,000 steps the first day I wore them. I miraculously did not have a single blister, which is rare even for broken-in sneakers.
Bags from the brand Freja: I noticed girls on TikTok start carrying east-west leather bags very reminiscent of Alaïa and thought, “Cute, but not for me.” When it came time to look for a new work bag, though, I found myself repeatedly returning to Freja’s website. Many bags specified that they were made to fit a laptop, but they came in shapes and styles that were much cooler than a regular tote. I decided to try the Kaia bag, and so far I’m loving it. It is a similar shape to The Row Park tote (a current obsession of mine), but feels sturdier and stronger, which is important since I have my laptop and multiple pouches with me at all times. It was even on sale when I ordered!
Heated Rivalry: This is obviously not a purchase, but I had to include it because social media truly did get to me with this one. I prefer reality TV to scripted shows right now and had counted Heated Rivalry out (also because, let’s be real, HBO Max does not feel like it’s at its best right now). I can admit that I was wrong: I finished the entire season in one day.
I’m sorry for being a bit inconsistent over here— I promise I won’t make a habit of it. If you’re looking to see anything specific, please leave a comment or message me!
See you next time!

The Prada sunglasses are so chic!
So pleasantly happy to see mention of Heated Rivalry! I, too, prefer reality but once I started watching the show… it was game over. binged it in one night. totally worth a mention!
